Deck refinishing with TuffDecks® is more green than any other option. TuffDecks® water base elastomeric coating allows you to reuse the current decking and get a lasting, protective coating that is safe for the environment, kids and pets. By resurfacing the original decking rather than replacing it, we reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill. This is important because most decks are built using treated lumber that is resistant to the natural breakdown cycle.
The surface of your deck is first sanded using a dust containment system to reduce the airborne dust particles. The second step uses a water based deck cleaner/stripper that is biodegradable and plant/animal friendly to clean the rest of the surface, pickets and rails. All our products are rolled or brushed on to prevent airborne particulates.
With TuffDecks® one time application, you won’t need to maintain your deck year after year using harsh stain removers and toxic oils/stains, most of which contain very high VOC’s. You’ll simply need to wash your deck annually with our water-based cleaner and have it re-coated every 12-15 years.
TuffDecks® technologies were specifically developed to replace unsafe harsh chemicals and unacceptable mechanical methods still common in the industry.
